Sandia Peak Tramway
While you are in the area, do not miss an opportunity to visit Sandia Peak Tramway for transport above deep canyons and breathtaking terrain over a distance of 2.7 miles. You will see some of the most dramatic terrain unfold before you. At sunset, the desert skies produce a spectacular array of color, and your vantage point from the observation desk atop 10,378 foot Sandia Peak in the Cibola National Forest affords an 11,000 square-mile panoramic view of the Rio Grande Valley and the Land of Enchantment. It is located on the eastern edge of Albuquerque in the Sandia Mountain foothills at the end of Tramway Road. It can be approached from the east side of Albuquerque and I-40, Exit 167, taking Tramway Blvd. North ~9 miles, or from I-25 north side of Albuquerque, Exit 234, and head east.
